therapy and supervision

There is no such thing as creative and non-creative people, only people who use their creativity and people who don’t.

therapy sessions

Creative arts therapy sessions involve a combination of creative activities and talking. We work collaboratively together to find ways of enquiring that is comfortable and non-threatening, yet novel enough for new possibilities to be explored. All genders are welcome. Sessions are usually for individuals, while work with couples, family members and groups can be requested. Sessions can be held in-person at the practice or online.

“I love who I am becoming, even though it is a bumpy road. Thank you for your guidance and wisdom. You have helped me more than I can say.”

“I am beyond grateful for your help in the past year, it’s been really a pleasure to be part of your space. Thank you for making me feel comfortable and welcomed enough to open my soul to you. I was in a really lost place, and as an immigrant who lives on the other edge of the world from my home and family, your space was exactly what I needed in that moment. The support I received in the past year during my deepest crisis is irreplaceable.”

“Thanks so much for your support – you have been amazing, you got me through some really rough times, and I always left you believing in myself, and feeling a lot better than when I arrived.”

professional supervision

Professional supervision sessions are available for creative arts therapists and anyone working in the helping professions. Sessions can be held at the practice, or online. Amanda is an ANZACATA-approved supervisor.

“Supervision with Amanda is fulfilling for me; as she reflects on what I bring and intuitively guides me through this, she is modelling authentic engagement with warmth, generosity and wonderment and I feel my practice is gaining so much valuable growth.”

“Amanda’s layered way of supervision is deeply human while being ethically,  professionally, clinically and creatively astute.  Amanda has a way of inviting and companioning the wise and confident part of myself while gently encouraging and troubling areas in my therapeutic practice that need extension.  She provides playful, creative, somatic and trauma informed supervision steeped in her huge knowledge of clinical theory and upheld by her unwavering advocacy through her lived experience of creative therapies. She is down to earth, kind, very human and refined in her seeing. I love her out of the box playfulness with her experiential way of show and discover rather than tell and teach.  Her touch is light yet her reach is deep and I love that because it builds confidence in myself rather than in an expert other that has the answers.”

“My experience of having Amanda as my professional creative arts therapy supervisor has been wonderful. I always come away from our sessions feeling empowered and energised. Amanda’s knowledge, experience, and insights have helped to guide me to be better at what I do. It has been particularly helpful that Amanda has an understanding of, and experience in, the use of photography and video in a therapeutic context because this directly relates to an important aspect of my professional practice. Amanda creates a safe and nurturing environment that also challenges you in unexpected ways. I know that my professional practice is benefiting from our sessions. I am incredibly grateful for Amanda’s guidance and wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone seeking a knowledgeable, compassionate, and inspiring creative arts therapy supervisor.”
